PJ Ryan

PJ Ryan is Head of ESG at the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), where he leads the Federation’s work on sustainability, climate, and diversity across the Irish construction sector. He works closely with industry, government and European stakeholders to support companies – particularly SMEs – in responding to evolving ESG requirements and building long-term capability.

PJ has been centrally involved in a number of key inclusion and talent initiatives within the sector, including CIF’s “Give to Gain” programme, the development of industry-wide Diversity & Inclusion surveys, and engagement with national programmes such as the STEM Passport for Inclusion, which connects students from underserved communities with career pathways in construction . He has also supported industry participation in initiatives such as I Wish, helping to promote construction as a modern, innovative and inclusive career.


He sits on the Balance for Better Business Advisory Group and is actively involved in promoting greater diversity and participation across the built environment, with a particular focus on practical, scalable solutions that support workforce development and sector resilience.
